Maverick Sunglasses

Hey Mav! My sunglasses are the real deal. US Marine issue Randolph Engineering, not those trendy Ran Ban ones that Tom Cruise wore in Top Gun. Mommy has the amber glass versions, the real big ones. Babycool!

Michael Parekowhai

The funnest artwork ever - Mr Parekwhai at his playful best - bunnies, funny-scary man, seal with piano and more bunnies...

Flowers, Hydrangeas

Flowers are babycool, especially when photographed by hot kiwi artists like Ans, Michael and Derek. Oops apologies for the first name thing Ms Westra, Mr Parekowhai, Mr Henderson... Mommy did not bring me up to be so familiar.

Cool Bespoke Lighting

Mommy and I were having coffee (well i was having a fluffy) in Christchurch. There were these cool lights. They actually reminded us of what Daddy made for the bathroom. Kinda Jean Prouve inspired, Jean is the King of babycool!

Designed for his parents a good 40 years ago, Richard Rogers really created something bright, bold and babycool! Currently has the third generation of Rogers living there.

Futuristic Airport Architecture

So New York is my favourite city. I haven't been there, but I know it is. It's like my home away from home, the place I feel I can most be me. Hmm, well Ma and Pa better take me there soon so I can find out.
The TWA Terminal at Kennedy airport is so babycool I just want to hop on my mini Vespa and ride all over it. Imagine scooting in that baggage hold!! Mr Saarinen really had an interesting mind, don't you think.
And of course going through LAX on the way to NYC. The only babycool thing about LAX is the LAX building, and that is 100% babycool.

Rocking Chairs

Rocking Chairs ROCK! Well the Eames Rocking Chair certainly does. The one above is available on Ebay for USD$1600 at the moment. Isn't it beautiful!

Dadda bought Mamma one when I was in her tummy so that she could rock me to sleep. Ours is in Army Green. It's hot. It isnt Herman Miller though. It's Modernica, which if you can't afford original 60s is the best as it still uses the original molds and fibreglass.

Right at the top is the uber-slick Stringray. I can just see myself curling up in the sheepskin, then rocking away. Ah, nice.

The purple thing was in Claire's Design Folio e-letter today. It's purple Claire and it's a hot dog, what were you thinking? Might be quite fun though. Purple is definitely not babycool.

Peter Stichbury

So Mommy had this great idea to commission Peter Stichbury to paint me. She wants me to have a great record of my youth and babycool babyhood. And she love, love, loves his work and me of course.
But she just about fell over when she found out one of his works sold for $42, 000 recently at an Art & Object auction. It was a painting of Lily Donaldson, who you wouldn't think I'd know as I'm not even two yet, but Mommy is addicted to Vogue, so I know Lily pretty well now. She's cute.
So this is the beginning of our "Peter Stichbury discover Otto Loves" campaign... ah, hello, Peter, can you hear me?

Artek High Chair

If I wasn't so sold on my Tripp Trapp (in blue, the best colour for Stokke Tripp Trapp) this woudl have to be No 2, wouldn't it? In a great array of colours. I think you'd have to ask one of the guys at Thonet on Kent Tce to order one. Ah, babycool dining table looks with this baby.

Felt Slippers

You can get these cute baby slippers made from felt from Ness at Magnolia, College Street, Wellington. And from Caroline and John Girdlestone in Paekakariki. I love having my little footsies in them.

More Mobiles

I'm always on the look out for inspired mobiles. These ones are just so colourful and beautiful. Available from http://www.skandium.com/ like so many of the babycool-est stuff.

NZ Photographers

Mommy has really made me appreciate the cool photographers we have in New Zealand. Here are some of my favourites Ans Westra, Mart Friedlander and Derek Henderson. They capture the country, whether people or landscape in such a babycool way.

Guardsmen

Yep, I'm a Dane, well by blood anyway. Ma and Pa both have Danish ancestry, and they seem pretty proud of it, so with that double dose and all that enthusiasm, I'd have to love the Danish Guardsmen wouldnt' I...

Babycool military toys!

There's a robot exhibition on here in Wellington at Thistle Hall, see above. And then my first favourite robot onesie at the top from Little Lark, and tin Robot man - awesome.

Flight of the Conchords

Check out this funny free paper toy download of our local famous people Bret and Jemaine, designed by Morgan Gleave. I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for Small Acorns. Mommy and i have printed it out A3 size.
